LDLC.com have defeated NiP in the grand final of Fnatic FragOut league Season 2 after two maps (16-9 on de_inferno_se, 25-23 on de_train_se) to clinch $3,000.
After losing two out of three matches in RaidCall EMS One earlier this evening and still qualifying for the LAN finals, Ninjas in Pyjamas had to face fast rising LDLC.com squad in the grand final of Fnatic FragOut league Season 2 with $3,000 on the line. With both teams bootcamping for this weekend's DreamHack Summer, it promised to be a close affair.
Starting on de_inferno_se, their own selection, LDLC.com drew first blood and went up 3-0 as Terrorists. Without even upgrading their galils to AK47s for the first buy round, the French stormed through the A bombsite and secured themselves a solid economic advantage and a 5-0 lead.
They rode the momentum up to eight rounds in a row before Richard "Xizt" Landström finally stopped them with a 4-kill round. Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund followed it up with his own 4K, including a nail-biting 1-on-1 against Gordon "Sf" Giry at the B bombsite for 8-3. But the French apparently had it all figured out as they won three of the remaining four rounds, taking an impressive 11-4 advantage into the second half.

LDLC's fairy tale continued in the second pistol round when Dan "apEX" Madesclaire clinched a 1-on-2 situation and defused the bomb, but NiP's Alesund armed himself with an AK in the next round and scored 4 impressive kills to break the French team's momentum.
The Swedes started crawling back, with Alesund winning another 1vs1 for 12-6, and later getting 3 more kills in B for 12-8. NiP eventually reduced the deficit to only three rounds difference, but the French consolidated their defense and stopped every attack in the next four rounds, winning the first map 16-9.
Proceeding to de_train_se, NiP's pick, LDLC won the knife round and started on the favored CT side. Nevertheless, it was the Swedes who took the first round and the initial lead of 3-0. LDLC.com then armed themselves with a couple of AWPs in the hands of Vincent "Happy" Cervoni and Kenny "kennyS" Schrub, which prompted them to go on a four round winning streak.

Several rounds were then exchanged which put the score at 6-5 for LDLC, who then went on to take a few more and bring the half to a close with a 9-6 advantage. After switching sides the French won their 3rd of four possible pistol rounds and went up 11-6.
NiP opted for a surprise famas buy in the third round and it paid off as they brought themselves back into the game sooner than expected. The Swedes slowly but surely drew closer and finally equalized the score at 11 each.
However, LDLC's reply was stern and they stringed their own streak of four rounds, including a last second 1-on-1 by Cervoni who prevented Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg from defusing the C4. That clutch put LDLC.com on match point at 15-11, but NiP didn't roll over and instead they fought their way back to take the map into overtime. The French would particularly kick themselves for losing the 28th round in which they had a 3-on-2 advantage with the bomb planted, but Landström and Alesund, who completed another 4-kill round, somehow turned the situation around and saved their team.
Going into overtime, NiP prolonged their winning streak on the CT side making it seven rounds in a row and going up 18-15. LDLC.com put up the same number of rounds after the sides were switched, and then won two more in the second overtime thanks to Schrub's AWP which clinched a 2-on-4 situation for 20-18.

The Swedes finally broke the CT streak and won the first T round of both overtimes, but it wasn't enough as LDLC accomplished the same feat to make it 21-21 and move the map into 3rd OT.
CT side once again prevailed and the Swedish giants took a 23-22 lead, but individual heroics and clutch play by the French prevailed in the second half, as initially Madesclaire recorded 4 kills to even the score and then Cervoni and Schrub used their AWPs to win a 2-on-4 situation for 24-23. In the last round LDLC didn't let NiP get back into the game again, and they brought this exquisite clash to an end with a 25-23 scoreline.
